Provided data for HPNSDP results monitoring

  • Maternal mortality ratio (MMR) declined by 40 percent, from 322 in 2001 to 194 in 2010.
  • Antenatal care coverage increased from 63 percent in 2007 to 79 percent in 2014.
  • Skilled delivery practices doubled from 21 percent in 2007 to 42 percent in 2014.
  • Total fertility rate (TFR) declined from 2.7 in 2007 to 2.3 in 2014.
  • Contraceptive prevalence rate (CPR) increased from 56 percent in 2007 to 62 percent in 2014.
  • Use of modern contraceptive methods increased from 48 percent in 2007 to 54 percent in 2014.
  • Use of contraceptive among married adolescents increased from 38 percent in 2007 to 47 percent in 2014.
  • Prevalence of stunting among under 5 children decreased from 43 percent in 2007 to 36 percent in 2014.
  • Prevalence of underweight among under 5 children decreased from 41 percent in 2007 to 33 percent in 2014.
Infrastructure and Human Resources
  • Opened new campus of Sylhet Family Welfare Visitors Training Institute (FWVTI) and Noakhali Regional Training Centre (RTC).
  • Promoted 43 professional staff members.
